A brief discussion of the case appears in J. Allen Hynek (1977), which erroneously gives the date of the incident as 28 October 1956. Reissued as: J. Allen Hynek, The Hynek UFO Report (New York: Barnes and Noble, 1997), 128-130. In addition, an account by Randle (1999), examines the Blue Book Minot AFB case documentation while demonstrating a lack of acceptable scientific method in the investigations by the Air Force. French author Jean-Jacques Velasco (2004) published a brief account, partially based on the unauthorized use of this author's material. Following, Velasco's co-author, Nicholas Montigiani, published another account in the pulp magazine Top Secret (#20). In February 2005, ABC News aired a two-hour primetime special titled "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFO's – Seeing is Believing", which highlighted the Minot AFB case and interviewed several of the primary witnesses.

In November 2006, the premier issue of SciFi Magazine in France published an article titled, Panique à Minot Air Force Base, based on earlier drafts of this report.
